Mission Be training for High School educators at the Omega Institute. Summer 2020
Join Mission Be’s founder Carin Winter for a 5 day high school teacher training and learn to bring transformative and sustainable mindfulness lessons to your students.
Help create more compassionate and thriving 9-12th grade classrooms while also enhancing or developing your own personal mindfulness practice. This special Mission Be program provides you with an interactive opportunity to learn how to bring transformative and sustainable mindfulness lessons to your students.
The Mission Be modules are based on the science of mindfulness and aligned with social and emotional learning. Learn how to teach self-regulation techniques and lessons focused on topics such as being present, digital detox, empathy, compassion, boundaries, gratitude, and altruism. Through lectures, interactive discussions, and fun experiential practices, you learn effective ways to facilitate Mission Be’s 10-week course and infuse daily practices. Become prepared to transform your teaching by bringing mindfulness into your school or community throughout the year.
Join the movement for healthier and happier teachers and students
The Mindful Educator Training will introduce participants to the simple-yet powerful practice of mindfulness that can improve both their personal well-being and that of their students. Over the course of the 18 hour training, participants can expect to:
* Develop or Deepen Educator Self-Care Practice
The workshop experience is designed to help participants enhance their personal self-care and relaxation practice.
* Learn Mindfulness Facilitation Skills
The workshop will train educators in Mission Be’s 12 Week Mindfulness Program for children in 9-12th Grade
* Strengthen Peer Network
The workshop training offers many opportunities for educators to authentically connect and learn from peer educators integrating mindfulness in their lives and in the classroom.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND
The workshop is open for all 9th-12th Grade administrators, teachers, school counselors, psychologists and social workers and others working with youth.
Mindfulness programs have great potential to help students and teachers thrive in school and beyond as seen in the many positive experiences of those participating in such programs.
